About Precise™ Dental Resins

Precise™ is Monocure 3D’s High Definition dental resin formula. Our journey began with the biggest and best dental labs. We wanted to discover the most important properties for the lab technicians and dentists who used the models. We asked the people operating the 3D printers. We needed the ideal colour, viscosity, texture, odour, hardness, rigidness, accuracy and heat resistance. We didn’t want to experience warping or shrinking. The opaqueness, surface finish, compatibility, speed, durability, and ease of cleaning were all considered. With each new resin sample being sent to our selected Dental Lab technicians and dentists for field testing, the feedback we received from each sample tested was invaluable. Combined with our chemist’s experience, analytical skills and systematic approach, PRECISE™ Dental Model Resin was born.

With two unique formulas, designed to work in all open system DLP & MSLA 3D printers within a range of 255 – 425nm. PRECISE™ dental model resin allows for high precision accuracy, dimensional stability, and an opaque matte finish with a gypsum-like texture for all 3D printed dental model processing. The delicate balance between toughness, hardness and flexibility optimises it for all processes including diagnostic, implant & orthodontic models, and crown & bridge prototypes. Its low flex properties also make it suitable for vacuum forming aligner models. NB. Monocure 3D Dental model resin is not approved for intraoral use.

Our quality control procedures follow the ISO 9001 guidelines to ensure batch-to-batch consistency in every bottle. We call this the set and forget methodology, meaning you only have to dial our resin once. Then it’s as simple as pour and print, giving you more time to focus on what’s important. The unique low viscosity formula means lower print failures in colder weather, allowing consistent results all year round.

DENTAL PRINTING TIPS

Ensure the resin is mixed well by shaking the bottle before every print.

Always dial-in new resins using our calibration models.

For best results, and a safer alternative, clean models with our ResinAway® solution.

Remember to post-cure after cleaning to remove the tackiness and complete the cross-linking process.

PRECISE™ resin is highly versatile and can be printed between 10 micron and 100-micron layer heights. To achieve the best results, 3D models should always be designed solid, if hollowing is required, ensure drain holes are included to remove any trapped resin.

Always print large flat areas on an angle to help with print deformation due to the adhesion to the FEP film. To assist with unsupported areas, ensure you use well-positioned, solid supports. We recommend you add 1-2 seconds’ wait after print’ setting to allow the material to cool after curing before starting to lift the build plate. (Not all slicers have this setting, check with your software provider). Use a calibration model, to dial in your printer with our resin. Which PRESICE™ formula is suited to my 3D Printer?

PRECISE™ Dental Model Resin is available in two formulas:
Choose the DLP formula if your printer uses a projector module (DLP) to expose the layers. These include brands and models such as the MoonRay, SprinRay, Peopoly Moai, Asiga UV-Max / Pro 4K, Phrozen Make, B9 Creator, Flashforge Hunter, XYZ Nobel, and Kudo Titan.

If your 3D printer uses an LCD screen and a LED array (MSLA) to expose the layers, you must use our regular MSLA formula. These include Anycubic, Phrozen, Creality, Elegoo, Epax, Peopoly, Prusa, Uniz Slash, Wanhao, WOW SparkMaker & Kelant.

FINISHING — WHAT'S THE BEST PRACTICE?

  • For best results after printing, use ResinAway® for removing uncured resin from the part. Place part in a pre-wash bath filled with ResinAway® and use a soft brush to remove excess resin. Follow by placing the component into an ultrasonic cleaner with ResinAway® for 3-5mins to help remove the resin trapped in the finer detail.
  • Ensure parts are dry by using compressed air or patting gently with a lint-free cloth before post-curing – Warning: leaving excess IPA or ResinAway® on parts might result in surface cracking.
  • We recommend using a 405nm LED Ultraviolet light to post-cure the model. It is recommended to post-cure for a few minutes, then remove the excess ResinAway by washing with fresh water. Then place it back in the curing chamber for at least 5 mins to improve the tensile strength of the resin.
