Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the Anycubic Photon P1 different?

The Photon P1 combines a 10.1-inch 14K monochrome LCD with LighTurbo 4.0 optics for fine detail and consistent exposure. An industrial-grade ball screw, intelligent levelling and dynamic balance technology help maintain stable, repeatable printing.

Wave Release Technology reduces separation forces to minimise stress on models during printing. An optional Dual Material Print Kit lets you print with two colours or materials in separate tanks during the same job.

Can I choose between single-material and dual-material printing?

Yes. The standard build platform provides a 223 × 126 × 230 mm printing area for larger models or batches of smaller parts.

The optional Dual Material Print Kit uses two separate resin tanks and matching build plates for printing two colours or materials in one job. A perforated steel build plate is also available as an optional upgrade for high-viscosity resins.

Does the dual-material setup support automatic tank recognition and heating?

The dual-material setup does not currently support automatic tank recognition or resin heating.

How does dual-colour or dual-material printing work?

The optional Dual Material Print Kit includes two independent resin tanks and matching build plates. Each tank holds a different colour or resin, with separate slicing settings for each material.

This allows separate parts to be printed in two colours or materials during the same job. It does not combine both materials within a single printed part.

What is the maximum print size?

The Photon P1 has a standard build volume of 223 × 126 × 230 mm, approximately 6.5 litres. This provides space for larger prototypes or batches of smaller models.

What is the LighTurbo 4.0 system?

LighTurbo 4.0 is Anycubic’s optical system, featuring an aspherical Fresnel lens and over 92% light uniformity. It distributes light evenly across the build area to help produce sharp edges, fine details and consistent layers.

What slicing software can I use?

The Photon P1 works with Anycubic Photon Workshop. Compatible versions of third-party slicers, including Chitubox, Lychee and Tango, offer additional workflow options.

Check that your chosen software version supports the Photon P1 and the printing configuration you intend to use.

What types of resin can the Photon P1 print with?

The Photon P1 supports a wide range of resins, including standard, flexible, clear and high-viscosity materials up to 8,000 cP.

When using Monocure3D MSLA resins, begin with the recommended settings and complete a calibration print before production.

Can I adjust the resin heating temperature?

Yes. The resin heater has a default setting of 25°C and an adjustable range of 20–40°C. Heating is not supported with the dual-material setup.

What equipment do I need to wash and cure my prints?

You will need suitable cleaning tools, a resin-compatible washing solution and washing and curing equipment. Choose equipment that accommodates your prints and meets your resin’s processing requirements.

Follow the resin manufacturer’s instructions for washing, drying and curing.

Where can I find recommended resin settings?

For Monocure3D MSLA resins, use the recommended Photon P1 settings from our printer settings page or contact our team for assistance.

Settings may need adjustment for your material and printing conditions, so complete a calibration print before starting production.
