Use this cleaning agent as is, do not dilute with water. For best results use in conjunction with an ultrasonic cleaning bath (heat is unnecessary). Keep printed objects submerged in RESINAWAY® until the uncured resin has been removed. If you are using without an ultrasonic cleaning bath, use a soft brush will assist in this process. Once clear of resin, remove the object from RESINAWAY®, and for best results, use compressed air to remove the remaining liquid, otherwise pat dry with a lint-free cloth. Then post-cure the part using a recommended LED 405nm light until the surface is tack free (approx. 5mins at 30watts). The final process is to rinse under running tap water. For cleaning vats, build plates, instruments & surfaces, rinse/soak/wipe with RESINAWAY® then wash with fresh water.

SIMPLE STEPS FOR THE BEST RESULTS

RESINAWAY® performs best if it is used without diluting with water or any other liquid. There is no need to use IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) in any of these steps.

RESINAWAY®

Start with a “pre-wash” of RESINAWAY® in a separate container to remove excess resin using a soft brush to assist. This liquid will last a long time before needing to be replaced.

Submerge the models in an ultrasonic cleaning bath or wash & cure unit for s containing ResinAway® for approximately 5 mins until all the trapped resin has been removed.

Once clear of resin, remove the object from the bath, and use compressed air to remove excess liquid, otherwise, pat dry with a lint-free cloth.

Finally, post-cure the part using a recommended LED 405nm UV light until the surface is tack-free and has the desired strength. The final process is to rinse with fresh water.

While ResinAway is an effective cleaning solution in the above-mentioned units, it is important to know that prolonged exposure to certain low-quality plastics can lead to degradation and cracking over time. To ensure the longevity of your equipment, please take note of the following precautions:

Use with Wash and Cure Units: If you are using ResinAway in a wash and cure unit, be particularly cautious with the base of these units as they are often made from cheaper plastics. Avoid letting ResinAway come into contact with these areas.

Cleaning Procedure: If ResinAway gets on the base of your wash and cure unit, immediately wipe it off using a damp cloth dipped in water. This will help prevent any potential damage.

Elevating Your Unit: To further protect your equipment, it is recommended to use a rack or similar to elevate the unit off the bench. This will help minimise the risk of ResinAway coming into contact with vulnerable plastic components.

HEAD TO HEAD: RESINAWAY VS IPA

RESINAWAY®

Isopropyl alcohol doesn’t effectively break down all the materials in photopolymer resin, it only dilutes it, giving the appearance of cleaning, but becomes saturated very quickly. This will cause it to be ineffective, leaving residual resin on the parts.

RESINAWAY® is engineered to target the uncured resin as it changes its chemical structure to make it soluble in water. Turning a non-water washable resin into one, meaning it can be easily washed away after the part is post-cured.

RESINAWAY®

Unlike IPA, RESINAWAY® will not emulsify with the uncured resin on the print’s surface. This can cause the surface to turn cloudy & frosted, taking away from the natural transparency of the resin. If printed parts are left in IPA for an extended period, cracks on the surface will be evident or even worse; it may cause the 3D printed model to crack in weak places.

Isopropyl alcohol is highly flammable and can easily ignite. Another danger of using isopropyl alcohol is poisoning. IPA poisoning occurs when the liver is no longer able to manage the amount of IPA in the body.

HOW RESINAWAY WORKS

Generally, 3D UV Resins are termed Non-Polar (oil-loving), while water is a polar substance where the molecule has electrical poles (water will conduct electricity whereas oil and such, i.e. 3D UV resins are far less likely to conduct electricity.) So that is sufficient enough to define the term polar and non-polar. Polar and non-polar substances (i.e. Oil into Water) will not combine or mix together.

There is another term called “Bi-Polar “, and this defines a substance that is both Polar and non- polar, examples of Bi-Polar substances are some of the more common Alcohols, i.e. Ethanol, Propanol and Iso-Propanol. A Bi-Polar solvent is one that will mix and dissolve into both a polar material and also a Non-Polar material or water and also oil equally well into each.

RESINAWAY QUICK TIPS

Always wear safety protection equipment, including gloves and glasses.

Use an ultra-sonic cleaning bath for 5mins as the final rinse.

We recommend compressed air to remove excess residue.

When post-curing any resin, we recommend using a 405nm UV light source.

Once finished, we suggest rinsing the 3D model with clean water.

Remember to replace RESINAWAY® once cleaning is no longer effective.

WARNING: ResinAway is designed to remove uncured photo-polymer resins quickly, but it may harm certain plastics.

Plastics: Avoid prolonged exposure of ResinAway to low-grade plastic materials, as it can cause degradation and cracking.

Wash & Cure Units: The internal washing tanks in Anycubic, Creality, Phrozen, and Elegoo Wash & Cure stations are unaffected by RESINAWAY®. However, the bases of these units, often made from lower-cost materials, may degrade over time.

Ultrasonic Cleaners: Plastic baskets in ultrasonic cleaners can be affected if exposed to ResinAway.

Precautions:

STEP 1.

Remove the lid from the container, and peel off the foil seal.

STEP 2.

Locate the first sheet in the centre of the wipe roll and pull it through the dispensing cross hole.

STEP 3.

Wipe the entire surface clean to remove resin residue or contaminants. Wipe with a dry paper towel or damp cloth to remove excess after use.

Wipes are single-use only. Once used, do not flush down a toilet. Dispose of the EZY-WIPE™ into a bin.

After use, seal the container by firmly pressing the flip cap to avoid evaporation.
